The Brenthurst Foundation took a 16-member team of election observers, led by Zimbabwean politician Tendai Biti, to oversee the voting process at a number of polling stations across the country.

On 7th October 2022, a little over 500,000 Basotho voters elected new National Assembly members. Sam Matekane, leader of the Revolution for Prosperity Party and Lesotho's leading businessman, was chosen to become the kingdom's next Prime Minister.
